FCCLA Fudge Sales

By: MaKayla Meier

Once again it is the selling season! This year you can purchase Christmas gifts while supporting a good cause by buying fudge from the Red Rock Central Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members. Treat yourself to old-fashioned fudge made by the Walnut Grove Mercantile with real cream and butter. This mouth-watering fudge comes in a wide variety of flavors and in either half- or one-pound boxes.

The FCCLA members are selling fudge to raise money to help pay for expenses that occur throughout the year such as Star Event Competitions or extra unforeseen costs. Star Events are competitive events in which members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. Star Events offer individual skill development and application of learning through different activities.

The selling kicked off two weeks ago on Monday, October 22nd and will go until November 26th. The fudge will be delivered on December 14th, making it a perfect Christmas gift for your fudge lover. If you do not have a fudge lover to give to at Christmas, you can still buy some and put in the freezer. The fudge comes in several flavors. They include chocolate, chocolate walnut, rocky road, chocolate peanut butter, chocolate mint swirl, chocolate amaretto swirl, chewy praline, maple nut, and candy cane. All of these flavors are available in either half-pound boxes or one-pound boxes. The half-pound boxes cost five dollars and the one-pound boxes ten dollars. Money for the fudge is collected when you order and checks can be made out to RRC FCCLA. This organization gets to keep half of what they sell, making it a great fundraiser for them.

Haven’t been found yet? If you are interested in buying fudge but don’t know who to ask, you can call Red Rock Central at 752-7361 and ask for Jen Goblish. Jen is the leader of FCCLA at Red Rock and would be more than happy to help you order some fudge and support a good cause.
