WHEREAS, during the month of April, all over the nation, service projects will be performed and volunteers will be recognized for their commitments to community service; and

WHEREAS, volunteers have the power to fight the pervasive feeling of social disconnection; and

WHEREAS, volunteers are vital to our future as a caring and productive nation;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Redwood County Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim April, 2002, as Volunteer Month in Redwood County and urge my fellow citizens to join the effort and “Celebrate Volunteers!” in their communities.
